Emerald Metoxen Shooting News: 18-year-old teens Emerald Metoxen dies in fatal shooting on the city’s east side early Monday morning.

Family members, friends, and members of the Green Bay community are mourning the heartbreaking loss of 18-year-old Emerald Metoxen, whose life was tragically cut short following a shooting on the city’s east side early Monday morning.

Loved ones describe Metoxen as a young person with a bright future, someone who was deeply valued by family and friends and whose presence brought meaning and joy to those around him. His sudden passing has left his family devastated, struggling to process the shock of losing someone so young, while leaning on one another for strength during an incredibly difficult time.

According to the Green Bay Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 1:45 a.m. on June 22 to the 2400 block of Deckner Avenue after reports of a weapons-related incident. When officers arrived, they found Metoxen lying unresponsive in the street with an apparent gunshot wound. Despite immediate life-saving efforts from responding officers and emergency personnel, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities also confirmed that a second victim, a 17-year-old male, arrived later at a local hospital seeking treatment for a gunshot wound connected to the same incident. Officials said the teen’s injuries were serious but not considered life-threatening, and he is expected to survive.

During the emergency response, law enforcement issued a temporary shelter-in-place order for residents in the surrounding neighborhood as SWAT teams and the Crisis Negotiation Team worked to secure the area and ensure public safety. The order was later lifted at approximately 8:30 a.m., although police remained in the area as investigators continued their work.

The Green Bay Police Department said the investigation is still in its early stages. Detectives are actively working to determine the circumstances that led to the shooting, and no suspect has been taken into custody at this time.

As the community continues to grieve, family and friends are coming together to honor Metoxen’s life, sharing memories and expressing condolences. Loved ones say they will remember him not only for the tragedy of his passing, but for the life he lived and the impact he had on those who knew him.
